My session keeps ending, meaning I have to log back in after a while of inactivity.

Looks like a cookie issue to me.

It still won't keep me logged in, but it's not a major issue.

If it helps, I have three cookies Con:
phpbb3_amc01_sid contains a 128 bit guid, guess that's the session cookie.
phpbb3_amc01_k contains a 64 bit key, dunno what that's for.
phpbb3_amc01_ucontains 114 (locale? Or my sexiness score out of 100).

They're all first party for all subdomains of .awaygoalsrule on all paths. They all expire in a year and a day and are Http access only. They get set each time I visit presumably at the point where I log in.

If these values are what you'd be expecting in the http header, then something's gone pear-shaped on the server side. The server time isn't set to 2015 is it? :)

I only have to log in at the start of every browsing session no problems like JSP. My broswer will be open for 8 hours and as long as I log in first time it's fine. Really doesn't annoy me.

Take your time Con

This is driving me nuts.... :wall:

I can't pin it down so far... it works for some, but not for others... hell it works for me after logging in once just so long as I don't use a shortcut that's not on the signed-in page... even a simple http://www.awaygoalsrule.com link logs me out.

Yet all is well and I stay signed in if I avoid that particular action.

The cookie settings appear to be spot on:

Cookie domain: .awaygoalsrule.com
Cookie name: phpbb3_amc01
Cookie path: /

And the cookie secure (SSL) set to Disabled... which is correct AFAIK.

I seem to remember having a similar problem a few years ago, that users combated by adding awaygoalsrule.com to trusted domains in their browsers... but at the time it was a problem I couldn't replicate here so I never found out the actual cause.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's something to do with IP address (or other) validation, I've reduced the IP settings from ABC (x.x.x) to AB checks (the first x.x) I could try switching it off I suppose. If nothing comes to me I'll post a support request over on the phpBB forum.

my session has always timed out after a certain period. Never found it much of a problem though. Apart from when I got a top score on an arcade game and when I went to register the score it had timed out

It's supposed to time you out after an hour, so you can tell who's around and who isn't, but obviously it can be a problem for long games. One workaround is leaving a second tab open in which the AGR "who's online" page is open. This page refreshes itself every so often which keeps you logged in so that you can record your score.

You're all really big meanies. :p

EDIT: I also seem to recall those of you who leave your computers on 24/7 had problems longer and a reboot fixed it for at least one of you... so it might be worth a punt if you never turn it off and use hibernate/sleep mode.
