As some of you have already noticed, we have a new mobile style that detects what you are using and gives you a mobile theme to better suit the smaller screens.

Please leave any thoughts, comments, questions, etc. here. It's still very much in development so subject to change but please do let us know what you think.

Also a word of warning - please don't use the 'iphone' style that's available in your control panel as currently there's no way to change it back to another style so you will get stuck! It's just there for testing at the moment so please be aware.

Was just replying to your PM, but might as well post in here in case anyone disagrees.

It's certainly a lot quicker and more responsive which is great!

Couple of requests - could you add the 'Top' button to each post like there is on the desktop version of the forum, and also when viewing a thread the 'View Active Topics' button disappears. That's my favourite button :(

Happy to hear that, and the short answer is: maybe.

While it is possible to customise the pages, it will take some time and there may not be space to add everything that everybody wants etc. but we'll see. I'm currently still investigating so I'll know more soon.

Is there anyway to disable it should I want to see it the old way on my phone?

There two options off the top of my head... and you could let me know on this... can you just go to the user control panel after it's detected a mobile device and selected the mobile theme - and then pick an alternative/regular style/theme that overwrites the mobile detection with one of your choice? Not having a mobile phone I'm struggling to test this stuff all I have is user feedback. Where it says:

?style=9 at the end of the URL sets the style to the mobile one, 9 is the number of the mobile theme while 2 is the default style, I dunno how changing that would affect things either or if it would persist after clicking a link.

Or... I can remove the autodetect code and users would have to choose the mobile theme from their user control panels should they want to enable it for mobile browsing.

definitely can't select a default skin, if already says I'm on subsilver but it still forces it onto the mobile version.

Ok thanks for that.

Like I said, if it's a problem for anybody to get stuck with the mobile style then I'd have no choice but to remove the auto-detect code so that nobody gets it automatically, but it can be selected from the user control panel instead.

I'm happy to go with what's best for the majority.

I'm happy with either option.
