This is where all the frequently asked questions are, there's the official board related one, which you can find here
Click The Link...http://www.amcnet.co.uk/awaygoalsrule/phpBB3/faq.php

Anything not covered there can be addressed here.

BB Codes

BB Codes allow us to add new functionality to the forum, without you needing to understand the required code to do so :)

Embedding YouTube Videos

First one on offer is displaying YouTube videos embedded in your posts, I've set this up to work same as on the old forum, using the code:

[yt ] videoID [/ yt] (with no spaces)

...just like before. The videoID is the part of the YouTube link AFTER the v= part, eg if the full link is:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cFnRGVKD_Xo

...then the video ID you need to enter between the tags is:

cFnRGVKD_Xo

For you lazy sorts, you may even notice the addition of the yt button up where the bold/quote/image/URL buttons are, which will insert the empty tags for you, so you can just paste the video ID in between.

If done right, it works like this:

Embedding Google Video

Works much the same way, between two [googlevid ]IDnumber[/ googlevid] (without the spaces)

Eg the full link might be:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5124663073256035263&ei=NSnVSJDXCpGsiAKJv8XOAg

the ID number would be the bit in bold.

Embedding blip.tv video

Works much the same as the YouTube one.

If the link was:

http://blip.tv/play/0DLRh0oA

You'd type (or use the button and paste in between the tags)

[bliptv ] 0DLRh0oA [/ bliptv] (no spaces), and it looks like this:

Embedding Vimeo Video

Now you can embed Vimeo video as well, using the vimeo button and entering just the ID number - not the whole URL. You'd just want the bit after the URL, e.g. http://www.vimeo.com/[number]

Code:
[vimeo]Vimeo Video ID[/vimeo]

Code:
[vimeo]26182226[/vimeo]

Example of it in action:

Space Shuttle Atlantis Final Launch

UPDATED

NEWLY ADDED 13/08/11

DailyMotion video files can now be added in exactly the same way just by adding the video code eg

Code:
[dailymotion]Put ONLY video ID here. [/dailymotion]

New Image Link Button

Helpfully called "link".

You'd type (or use the button and paste in between the tags)

[link ] http://www.google.co.uk [/ link] (no spaces), and it looks like this:

Click The Link...http://www.google.co.uk

Formatting Options

Added the left, right and center codes, again these can be entered manually:

[center ]text in the center [ /center] (no spaces)

or automagically via the new buttons.

Spoiler Button

For when you don't want to give away the ending/secrets etc.

[ spoiler] hidden text goes inbetween here ... [/ spoiler] (no spaces)

Spoiler:
hidden text goes inbetween here ...

ADDED 28/07/09

New buttons for:

Subscript H20
Superscript H2O

And there's now also a horizontal rule (HR)

How can you use an image as a link? Like with the link emoticon, but with a chosen image?

Wrap an IMG tag in URL tags.

put an image in as normal -

[img ]http://www.cksinfo.com/clipart/animals/monkeys/dancing-monkey.png[/ img]

Which without spaces looks like this:

Image

Then click the URL button...

[url ][/ url]

You add the link address inside the first closing bracket, so it reads:

[url= http://www.awaygoalsrule.com/ ] *image here* then the closing [/ url] tag

EG

[url = http://www.awaygoalsrule.com/ ][img ]http://www.cksinfo.com/clipart/animals/monkeys/dancing-monkey.png[/ img][/ url]
