Last I knew Google Chrome didn't have any pop-up blockers. Is that company policy or personal choice?

Firefox has an add-on called NoScript which prevents websites from running scripts without your permission, so if you can change to FF then that'd be a good way to go.

You know what Paks like. He's probably voted JSP for woman of the year or something.

Google Chrome does have a pop up blocker.

I know it's fixed now but I was having the same problem and all you have to do is go on to the extensions tab and remove them all.

Sorry I didn't see this in time, but glad it's fixed. For future reference, Chrome has it's own pop up preferences: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95472?hl=en-GB

If that's not enough then there's AdBlock Plus and ScriptSafe. I'm not a Chrome user so I've never used either of these, but AdBlock Plus has got a decent reputation AFAIK.

Still can't beat Firefox with NoScript though imo, it's the single best addon for any browser that I've ever used. And on the subject of more secure browsing, and cool add ons, here's some other useful stuff I use that might interest you.

If you are interested in enhanced privacy from web trackers etc., there's Ghostery (Firefox) (or Chrome version here).

HTTPS Everywhere (Firefox and Chrome versions) that better encrypts communications with "many major websites".

And finally, if you are concerned with the anyone recording your searches, TrackMeNot (Firefox) (Chrome version here) does multiple random searches on multiple search engines at random intervals. Doesn't stop it being recorded, but it makes any collected data totally meaningless as it's mainly full of random stuff instead. :fonz:
