Over the years I have lost interest in keeping up with what's needed for making a good PC, so I'm at a loss as what makes a good laptop.

I basically need one with at least a 15 inch screen, that can run office. Although it's not for games (I plan to update my tower within the next year) I would like it to run Rome Total War, the specs are below:

Minimum:
OS: XP/ Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8
Processor:2 GHz Intel Dual Core processor / 2.6 GHz Intel Single Core processor
Memory: 2GB RAM
Graphics:512 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible card (shader model 3, vertex texture fetch support).
DirectX®:9.0c
Hard Drive: 35 GB HD space
Screen Resolution: 1024x768

Recommended:
OS: Windows 7 / Windows 8
Processor:2nd Generation Intel Core i5 processor (or greater)
Memory: 4GB RAM
Graphics:1024 MB DirectX 11 compatible graphics card.
DirectX®:11
Hard Drive:35 GB HD space
Screen Resolution: 1920x1080

Ideally I would like one under £600.

Edit: Intel only, no AMD please.

If you can wait 'til Saturday when I get home I will have a look round for you. I'm away ATM and using a touchscreen tablet it takes too long (plus the WiFi here is pants).

My sincere apologies, I've been serious distracted recently with a hand operation, but if you haven't purchased yet I will try to find you a beauty/bargain. :geek:

As for Rome Total War, minimum system requirements are pretty low for a modern game - WinXP, 2GB RAM, dual core CPU, a 512 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card (shader model 3, vertex texture fetch support) and a 1024x768 screen. Recommended specs are a little higher - Win 7/8, second gen Intel Core i5 processor, a 1024 MB/1GB DirectX 11 compatible graphics card and 4GB RAM.

What is your approximate budget?
