Well it was a great year for sport but there were many other things that left a bitter taste in the mouth. The peado scandels, the abduction of April Jones, Israel.

If RJ leaving AGR was the worst thing about 2012 for you, you've had a pretty good year

It wasn't the worst, but deserves special mention. I nominated City winning the league, but voted for RJ's departure as it was a big loss for AGR.

You know what Paks like. He's probably voted JSP for woman of the year or something.

I nominated RJ leaving. I don't really follow the news because its too depressing and in actual fact my main news source was RJ! Therefore that was the worst thing in 2012 for me

Was there ever any explanation for RJ leaving?

I've gone for the Saville incident as it backs up the Hillsborough verdict and shows just how far people will go to cover things up.

As for RJ leaving he decided that he needed a break from the place as he felt he was putting more in that he was getting out of it. Shame he left he's obviously missed as he put in a hell of a lot of work but I doubt we'll see him return any time soon.

People have stepped in to the void well though. You Con and Willie keep the place ticking over nicely.

We have a nice community here but I suppose we could go on a crusade to get some new recruits soon!!

I guess it's difficult for people coming in to an environment where you have 30 or so posters who have been the core group for going on 8 yrs.

It is difficult, I still remember what it was like when I joined, it takes a while to get used to people's personalities, and understand the context of what's going on.

I'd like to think we're a pretty friendly bunch though, so I'm sure that we could tempt some newbies into joining up and sticking around.

Personally I'm disappointed that The James hasn't recruited more of his US brethren to our cause.

Exactly :D

Although the fact that the most used thread seems to be the c**t thread suggests it's just a grumpy forum

The Saville victims are in the past, and the man is dead otherwise that'd get my vote... but it's very old news that Jimmy was a paedo, probably first reported to the police before I was born. Yes, that long ago. :nur:

So I voted for the UK government clawing most of the money back from benefits while only taking a relative pittance from the richest people.

Out of around £6Bn cuts identified so far, close to £4Bn of those are from the benefit budget, leaving many people who can't afford to live far worse off.

They say an average family on £20,000 per year will be £279 worse off... now compare this to somebody who can't work, let's say me... personally, my rent is going up £14 pw - or a relatively huge £728 per year reduction in benefit compared to my income.

And why is the rent going up? because they'll no longer pay housing benefit for the spare room so that my kids can stay over at weekends for example... way to encourage families! :dunce: I can either stop having my kids over to stay - the only time I see them - or take a large financial hit. Niiiice.

In comparison, the amount of money clawed back from the rich was about £700m, and even then that was in cuts to some preferential tax relief (IIRC) they receive. Compared to £3,700m from the poorest people in the country... that's just f**king mean.

Not that any proof were needed that they didn't care about ordinary people, but here we go again. Absolute twunts.

None other than what JSP already explained.

Not really sure myself why he left. He said he'd been back involved with some people from his past, dunno if that had anything to do with it or not. I assume he just wasn't enjoying it anymore.

In the interests of international relations, here's the translation:

I'd like to inform our overseas readers that they're most welcome here.
