Nani & CR7 lit up the dutch. Could've been a 6-3 game there tbh to Portugal. nani missed an aboslute sitter but made up with that cross. Germany/Denmark was good to but you could see teh Danes only had one goal in it.

Great round of last games so far.

I think the Dutch were predicting they wouldn't do well.

Holland just didn't play as a team in the games I watched.

Portugal were excellent tonight especially on the break. Glad to see Ronaldo turn up when it really matters further proof he doesn't choke in big games.

Has now scored in all 5 international tournaments he has played in he was awesome tonight.

Isn't the Dutch national teams problem usually that they aren't really a team?

They've been pretty guff in most games ive seen, not much of a defence.

Yep normally have problems of split dressing rooms big personalities not getting on.

In 2010 they seemed to be over that but it's reared it's head again in this tournament.

Agree they've been woeful at the back in there 3 games

Portugal looked good; Germany the team to beat though.

I do hope that Spain and Germany meet at some point in this competion.

The 2 best sides in Europe in a game with something on the line would be awesome

They are rarely a team but usually make quarters or semis consistently. This time they lacked a lot of class imo especially in defence with an aging DM cover inf ront they were very exposed. RvP was anonymous. Midfield was the only area they looked competent/class at times.

Andy Townsend (para phrasing)

Ronaldo - brilliant, shoots, runs at people, headers
Robben - greedy, selfish, not a team player

Said it before (about Barca), Spain are an amazing team, obviously, but their football is so f**king boring to watch.

They make games so 1 sided because they're so good at keeping it.

It's great to watch when they cutting open teams but when they come up against good solid sides it's not great.

It's up to a manager to work out a way of beating it that doesn't Involve parking the bus.

Silva is so good, has a touch probably nearly as good as Berba's, and his close control is amazing. Love watching him play, has such grace on the ball. Everything he does he always looks like he's completely in control, you never think 'he's got a bit lucky there'.

Wonderful player.

How many f**king times is the commentator on the Spain vs Croatia game going to tell us that "it goes to a mini-league and Italy are going through"? Christ almighty, it's been twenty times in the second half alone. We get it. Really. We're smarter than you think, you patronising c*ck. :wall:

New amendment to offside law I'd like suggest:

Surely since Navas is offside when the initial passed is played he should still be offside even though he's (just) behind the ball when he receives it for the goal. He's never onside from the initial pass...

Not sure what the letter of the law is but he should be offside IMO.
