With Wayne Rooney frenzied and ready to enter the Euro 2012 arena later tonight, Nike have released the following viral; which sees a sullen Rooney apparently sat naked on a stool in a darkened room while the voices in his head tell him to burn things, kick old ladies, etc, etc…

UNLEASH THE BEAST!!!

DANNY WELBECK is set to get the nod to partner Wayne Rooney tonight.

England boss Roy Hodgson wants to pair the Manchester United team-mates up front against Ukraine with Andy Carroll dropping to the bench.

Both Welbeck and Carroll scored in Friday’s 3-2 win over Sweden but Hodgson admits Rooney, who has completed a two-match ban, is a certain starter.

Theo Walcott has come through a scare on his hamstring problem and is expected to be named on the bench with James Milner starting on the right.

England need a draw to qualify and Hodgson said: “It has become a very difficult choice because both Welbeck and Carroll have done so well.

That viral ad is like something from a Resident Evil game.

Think the team picks itself

Hart

Johnson Terry Lescott Cole

Milner Parker Gerrard Young

Rooney Welbeck

I'd be amazed if we don't start with that team with Walcott/Carroll we actually have some good potential impact players as well.

Think this is going to be tough Ukraine will throw the kitchen sink at us tonight so if we're smart and sit deep like we did vs France you'd hope that we can pick them off on the break.

If we're playing on the break surely Walcott should start?

Walcott, IMO, is at his best coming off the bench. He's got the pace and directness to take a tired defence to pieces, but he's not gonna cover Johnson the way Milner will, and if Ukraine are gonna come at us, which they have to, I'd rather have the more defensive minded player on for the start.

Hell no. Walcott should be used purely as an impact sub.

Hoping Rooney & DWelbz can get on the same wavelength quickly, see the kind of interplay we saw against Everton.

Why? He was a brilliant impact sub vs Sweden why not use him in that role again if he's needed? We've seen down the years that starting games Walcott dissapears for long periods so this new impact sub role could suit him perfectly.

The reason Milner is playing is to protect the right hand side of our defence as John Terry at right CB is playing out of position and Glen Johnson is a pretty average defender so Milner stops teams exposing us down the right.

Walcott's weapon is pace so why not wait until the opposition is tired ie the last 20-30 minutes and unleash him then? This is the role he played in the last game so why not ask him to just go and do it again as Theo Walcott has never and will never be able to influence a game for 90 minutes he's not that sort of player.

I think Hodgson will only want to make the 1 change and thats bring in Rooney because Carroll was used specifically agains Sweden due to there weakness on headers.

I don't mind Milner starting either..he can run their defenders long enough to tire them out so Theo can come on and exploit it. Seems like a good tactical move to me.

Run their defenders by that do you mean letting their defender run at us because he is terrified of going forward. I keep hearing how he is good at helping out Johnson in defence when the opposing winger and defender double up on him..but on the flip side it could be said Milner playing so deep invites that situation.. In city's last 6 games they used Milner once as a sub in the 89th minute to waste time.. That's how highly they value him.. Play Walcott for crying out loud... We can use Milner as a de-impact sub when we are already winning.

Walcott has scored 1 goal since he got that hat trick vs Croatia in 2008. 1 goal in 4 years of international football and probably 1 assist he's consistently w*nk for England and suddenly everyone wants him in the team.

At international level for England he'll always be an impact sub Hodgson plays a certain way and that's why he'll keep picking Milner and if it means we don't get walked over by good teams then I'm on board with it for the short term.

So far the system has worked against Belguim, Norway, France & Sweden so I don't see why we should change it for Ukraine just because someone scored a goal thanks largely to some really flappy handed goal keeping.

If you start Walcott and things go badly how do you change it as you'd be subbing Walcott/Young for Downing/Milner you want to inject pace into the team so you need one of your pace men on the bench. For me Oxlade Chamberlain is along for the ride to learn the ropes he's not quite ready yet but this tournament experience will do him the world of good.

OK.... observation

I think we're all agreed Young starts and afaik he can play left or right, so you're free to select the next best option....

Downing, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain & Walcott....

....& we think it's a straight choice between 'injury doubt' Walcott & Milner?

He could surprise us all & go.....

Welbeck

Oxlade-Chamberlain--Rooney--Young

Gerrard--Parker

If you want a surprise. We're playing in Europe away from home. Do a Fergie

Milner Parker

Walcott Gerrard Young

Rooney

I wouldn't be against that. Young does good work helping his full back out and Rooney playing a slightly withdrawn role means he could (try) and bridge the massive gap there's been between the two CM's and Welbeck.

Lot of pressure on Young tonight he's been excellant in the build up to this tournament over the last year he's really come of age in an England shirt but he's not really performed in the first 2 games.

If the alternative wasn't Downing or to give him his full name why f*cking Downing then it could be him losing his position.
